History
The Georgia Barnette Conference Center is a new facility at Tall Timbers. It was constructed between the Missions and Ministry Team at the Louisiana Baptist Convention and Tall Timbers in 2016, and honors the smaller Kathryn Carpenter Chapel we had for many years. We envision the Georgia Barnette Conference Center as the focal point for missions training and encouragement of missionaries, churches, associations, and others involved in the mission endeavors with the Louisiana Baptist Convention.
Layout
The building contains a beautiful spacious foyer with a coffee bar. In the chapel, there are expandable walls to allow for classrooms. The main space in the chapel can seat up to 600 with the space open. With the walls in place, the center space can seat 225 and have 6 classrooms surrounding it.
Each room is equipped with Apple tv for presenting using airplay over the Wifi network. You can also plug in directly with a PC.
We have a state-of-the-art Audio Visual system in the main room of the GBCC. This room is equipped with a dynamic PA System as well as high definition monitors for visual presentations. The lighting in the room is also very modern with a lighting system capable of advanced visual effects and over one million color combinations.
Prayer Garden
Behind the building are quiet places to sit, pray, or reflect. There are pavers and bricks showing names of people who have contributed to building God’s kingdom in local churches and through the cooperative missions and ministries of Louisiana Baptists. Their vision, their sacrifice and their obedience lives on as thousands of lives are influenced for God’s Kingdom each year through the events held at Tall Timbers.
